News and Events

Showcasing some of the recent events that LBRG have attended..

As 2015 is fast coming to a close we find ourselves reflecting on the past year.
This year we have seen some major changes occur within the league that is LBRG. With a change of committee and the introduction of our new coaches, Shane Kite aka “Hank Fister” and for the first half of the year, Naomi as learn to skate coach.

Shane has brought with him a bucket full of skills, but also an interest in keeping it enjoyable for all skaters, and Naomi was able to give the learners a good base to their skating skills.

This year saw a variety of our skaters represent LBRG at local, interstate and even at national level at the first ever Junior Roller Derby World Cup!

As a League all our players have grown enormously in both skills on the track, but also the comraderie for their fellow team mates on and off the track.

But as we all know that this would not have been possible without the tireless support of all the volunteers in the derby community. The committee that put the time in keep the league running, to the parent helpers at weekly training scrims and fundraiser events, to the NSO’s and Referees that make our bouts possible, and to the adult leagues that have supported us. Without you we would not be able to showcase the skills of all our awesome players.

Lastly, thank you to all the LBRG Skaters that show up week after week to training, with your willingness to learn and push yourselves and your team mates to new levels makes this all worth it.
